On my journey at this time I am learning to find my autonomy, speak my truths, and have a deep love affair with myself…….I believe in love and that it is all that is real……nothing brings me to my true essense quicker than love……love being the center of all my being and all that I am……..I want to give away more love and be the witness to all that love's miricles transform.

~~~~~~~ARE LESBIANS A TITHE TO THE GODDESS?~~~~~~~
I am struck by the recurring number: 10%. Ten percent of the females in the world are lesbians. Of the world? Yes, In every society for which there is imformation, there are lesbians and the percent often given is 10%.
Tithe means a tenth, but it also means an amount set aside, saved, unspent in the ordinary way, an amount to be invested, or a tribute or gift to the devine.
In ancient times it was customary to set aside 10% of the harvest for seed. I asked myself then, is that the source of the religious use of the tithe? Since churches came long after agriculture, it seems likely the tithing would be a logical way to explain the imposition of a church tax on an agriculture people.
Even before agriculture, there was biology. I assume that any phenomenon that recurs regularly across the human population is biological. Did the goddess choose to set aside a tithe of her daughters for herself?
These daughters would return their love to her and each other.
We are womyn who experience the sacredness of females in our love for womyn. We worship the devine female in her incarnation in our lovers body, mind and soul. Our love of womyn reflects our love of her. In this sense our lives are a tribute to her, both in honoring her and a gift in returned to her. As we give our deepest energies to womyn-publicly and privately-we are her assurance that her presence will be actively working here on earth.
If we come to believe that our existance as lesbians has a devine purpose then we can set ourselves to expressing that purpose in our lives, individually and together.
